The Product Business Analyst (PBA) works with the team colleagues, Business Owners (BO) and stakeholders across the business to define and document the business requirements for the introduction of new services and enhancements and alterations to existing ones. The individual will facilitate the collection, categorisation and prioritisation of these requirements and work with IT colleagues to design, implement and test any changes, acting as the expert sounding board for expected behaviour and as a supportive resource through to go-live. 

Responsibilities 

Have a working-level understanding of existing and proposed CREST service offerings. 

• Quickly develop an understanding of the services within the scope of your brief to support the relevant Business Owner and Product Business Analyst. 

Collaborate with Business Owners, Product Business Analysts (PBAs), and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate high-level business requirements. 

• Convert high-level business requirements into detailed, categorized, and prioritized requirements. 

• Ensure all stakeholders have a full understanding of requirements. 

• Prioritize requirements using the MoSCoW model, considering both total cost of operation and new revenue opportunities. 

Write user stories and determine acceptance criteria. 

• Develop user stories for all requirements, including stakeholder details and the value of the story. 

• Establish acceptance criteria for testing prior to deployment. 

Perform risk assessments on services to be provided or enhanced. 

• Document risks in required templates and present them to the appropriate forum. 

• Capture, categorize, and escalate risks to the appropriate individuals and forums as needed. 

Act as a coordinator for operational and external participant testing. 

• Serve as the primary business contact for the testing team regarding expected system behaviour, defining expected outcomes and ensuring effective testing, with results reviewed and documented. 

Support project managers in coordinating communication and establishing consensus among stakeholders and participants. 

• Facilitate business process analysis meetings with users and stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and brainstorm ideas. 

Adapt to an agile delivery environment. 

• Familiarize yourself with business analysis in an agile environment. 

• Actively support sprint reviews and continuously reprioritize the contents of subsequent deliveries. 

Maintain all requirements documentation to a high standard. 

Ensure the successful deployment of new and enhanced services into the live production environment. 

Support the delivery of requirements into operations and their translation into day-to-day business activities. 

Requirements 

Technical Skills 

• Good experience in the UK financial services industry and EUI’s role for proactive contribution to discussion and performance of analytical tasks. 

• Ability to learn and understand complex operational processes and system functionalities. 

• Understanding of risk assessment methodology 

• Understanding or willingness to learn about current CREST service lines. 

• Understanding or willingness to learn about ISO messaging standards with a view to applying this to CREST services. 

Soft Skills 

• Strong facilitation skills 

• Excellent presentation skills, both written & oral 

• Strong attention to detail 

• Excellent problem-solving skills 

• Proficient with MS Office, including MS Project 

• Highly Organised

Nice To Have 

• Previous experience of gathering and consolidating requirements from both external and internal sources would be valuable but not essential 

• Experience of developing user stories to support the production of requirements would be valuable but not essential
