Research Office Administrator
Grade UE05: £27,979 - £32,332 per annum.

Full-time contract: 35 hours per week.
Open-ended: permanent role.
We are seeking a well organised, professional, approachable and self-motivated Research Office Administrator to join ERO and provide effective and efficient administrative support to our fast-paced team. We are looking for a colleague with a “can do” attitude, fast learner and someone who enjoys a dynamic work environment.
The Opportunity
This role will have a specific emphasis on supporting the recruitment and on-boarding processes. Working within a team of three administrators, the post holder will also provide support for other areas of activity including finance, training and events organisation.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, have good communication skills and a strong command of the English language. You will be able to plan and prioritise your own work effectively, using initiative, and have a pro-active approach to seeking out information. An ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, and you will have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and good IT skills across a range of different types of packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, email and calendar, and content management systems).

Your skills and attributes for success:
- Qualification in appropriate subject at least to HNC or SVQ3 level.
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- Fast learner and able to get up to speed with new systems such as People & Money.
- Accuracy and attention to detail with ability of handling confidential information.
- Proactivity, initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Event planning and organisation skills.

The Administration Team at the Edinburgh Research Office (ERO) plays a crucial role in maintaining the seamless functioning of the office by delivering extensive administrative assistance. Our duties encompass a wide range of responsibilities, such as handling human resources tasks, processing financial transactions, supporting events, as well as performing other general office tasks. The team collaborates closely with ERO staff, senior leadership, and different university departments to advance the broader goals of the ERO.
