About the Job

We are looking for a creative, commercial and forward-thinking individual with a passion for all things social to join our talented Marketing Team. Primarily working across our growing Instagram, TikTok and Facebook channels.

The Social Media Manager is responsible for executing the voice of the Gap brand and maximising brand awareness through organic social content, including influencer activations. The role lives and breathes new and exciting opportunities to story tell the brand, in the UK with a focus on building a community and considering what makes the UK customer shop, whilst maintaining Global brand integrity. They fully understand the customer and are able to build a communications strategy that maximises this behaviour, tapping into the relevant influencers, partners and social channels that the GAP customer interacts with.

Able to spot content gaps within both the global (US) and local focuses, to source and develop additional inspiring locally relevant content with the JV creative team, that is both commercial and innovative. They have a strong brand lens and are both analytical and creative, constantly reviewing and analysing performance of output across our profiles. 

 

You will be…

  • Be a motivated, self-starter who has the ability to multi task and prioritise with excellent time management/organisation skills Be responsible for bringing the Gap UK brand to life across our social media channels
  • Highly flexible in working style to adapt well to a rapidly changing and fast paced environment
  • Be knowledgeable and passionate about all things social from jumping on trending concepts to finding top influencers/talent to collaborate with us
  • Own the UK organic social calendar, and plan its content utilising campaign content, GOL imagery, influencer & UGC, Gap insiders, locally-created content
  • Ensure the calendar is planned to promote the right messages at the right times, both aligning to campaign launches, product launches and email alignment
  • Be proficient in editing tools and comfortable creating content via iphone 
  • Community management of UK social channels – posting and scheduling of all content, responding to any DMs, finding UGC, and monitoring the channels daily.
  • Report on any key campaigns and engagement and use learnings for future planning
  • Local content creation - brainstorm, create and manage content projects based on seasonal and local market needs. Manage briefing process for assets required for GAP owned channels and project management with external agency or studio team
  • Work with copyrighter to ensure our tone of voice is appropriate and aligns with our brand
  • Create and distribute engaging weekly content plans in line with the tone of voice of the brand
  • Manage everything from top line campaigns to daily posting/management of our social channels
  • Liaise with Franchise organic social team on opportunities and best practice learnings. Strong link in with our PR + influencer agency to develop engaging content across our social channels
  • Constantly look for new influencers and different categories of them to partner with
  • Liaise with Buying, Merchandising and Brands teams to determine products for trend story shoots to be used on the website and across social channels
  • Manage weekly social media reporting and analysis
  • Work closely with PR team to drive influencer content and outreach
  • Join the team in creating weekly trend and competitor reports
  • Be confident on camera and able to create content for brand channels
  • Be responsible for sample management & competition prize coordination

  • Previous experience in a Social Media Managerial role ideally for a retail/lifestyle brand 
  • Super creative with an innovative approach
  • Passionate about fashion
  • Up to date with what’s trending on Social - constantly discovering new, engaging and authentic content
  • Keen eye for finding new influencers and tastemakers to work with who could represent the brand and resonate with the different GAP target customers
  • Organised and able to manage a busy workload
  • Team player with excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong sense of initiative and full of ideas
  • Great photography/videography skills on iPhone/Samsung and editing skills
