Job Description:

Student workers in the Medical Humanities Program are an integral part of our team and serve as ambassadors for our program.  Knowledge of the Medical Humanities Program is an important part of this position.  The office assistant serves the many constituents of the Medical Humanities Program including current & prospective students, faculty, staff, university administrators, and community health care professionals.  Skillful use of Canvas, Canva, social media platforms, phone, email, and personal interaction are essential.  A well-groomed, professional appearance is imperative.  Applicants should be dependable, organized, creative, and demonstrate initiative.  Federal Work Study eligible and Medical Humanities majors or University Scholars with a Medical Humanities concentration are preferred.  Keeping records and conversations within the Medical Humanities Program confidential is an essential and crucial aspect of the position.  

Job Duties:
•    Greet and provide information, support, and assistance to current and prospective students, faculty, and others visiting the Medical Humanities office; manage front desk
•    Perform daily administrative and office tasks (answering the phone, checking departmental email, copying/scanning, restocking office supplies, coffee cart, drinks, etc., and maintaining the office)
•    Assist with various events, activities, and projects (will include a few Saturdays)
•    Provide course support for faculty as needed (i.e. entering grades/attendance in Canvas, making copies, scanning, etc.)
•    Correspond with alumni, current and prospective students, and other constituents via telephone, virtual call, email, etc.
•    Use Canva to create graphic design elements for event and course description flyers
•    Assist social media manager with content including correspondence and photography
•    Write material for the website, promotional packets, and other compilations
•    Provide general office assistance and support  
•    Maintain files and reports and ensure confidentiality of information  
•    Assist with various projects, activities or tasks as assigned  
•    Ability to comply with University policies  
•    Maintain regular and punctual attendance
