  • £34,834 - £38,223 per annum pro rata
  • Plus retention payment of up to £4,000 per year pro rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Suffolk County Council (SCC) Recruitment, Assessment and Matching Team as a Social Worker, working from Endeavour House, Ipswich.

Your role and responsibilities

You will:

  • support the recruitment of potential Foster Carers and Prospective Adopters 
  • undertake Fostering Form F assessments – Support and training will be provided
  • complete transferring Foster carer assessments
  • co-deliver Skills to Foster Training and Fostering Information Evenings.

You will need

  • a relevant social work qualification
  • Social Work England registration.

The team 

The team operates a county-wide service focused on recruiting, assessing, and approving Foster Carers, as well as supporting long-term placement matching. Known for its supportive and friendly atmosphere, the team is committed to continuously improving practices to meet children`s needs. Despite a busy workload, team members share a passion for fostering and bring creative ideas to their work. Our collective goal is to approve and support Foster Carers who can make a positive difference in the lives of children in care.
