Porgera | Superintendent - APD Operations Surface
The Superintendent - APD Operations Surface will be responsible for overseeing the security operations of our organization. This includes managing security personnel, developing and implementing security policies and procedures, and ensuring the safety and security of our assets, employees, and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security management, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to risk management.
The ideal candidate must;
• Have a minimum of Grade 10 Certificate or higher.
• Have a minimum of 10 years Police/Military experience.
• Proven Security Operational experience.
• Be physically fit and able to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Be prepared to work on a Fly-In/Fly-Out roster which is presently a 28/14 rotation.
• Be prepared to work a 12-hour day/night shift.
• Provide a recent Police/Criminal clearance certificate (acquired within 6 months to date).
• Provide an original copy of verified Military or Police discharge order/signal.
• Be able to drive a manual vehicle confidently and have a Valid PNG Driver`s license.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick, effective decisions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all security operations and personnel.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies promptly and effectively.
• Provide training and development for security staff.
• Work with other departments to ensure security measures support business operations.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on security activities and incidents.
• Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness.
• Handle high-pressure situations and make quick, effective decisions.
• Develop, implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
Mobilization Requirement
• This position is open to PNG Citizens Only
• Rotation is FIFO, 28 days on and 14 days off
• Adhere to Covid19 Protocols
• Must Have an up to date Police clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
