TITLE: Outreach Worker-Local Only

TEAM/PROGRAMME: Nutrition/ Program Implementation        LOCATION: Sittwe Office, Rakhine State

Number of Position: 1

GRADE: NAT 6  CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed Term

 

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.

 

ROLE PURPOSE: 

To ensure the activities which are implemented properly for Blanket/Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program in a total of 23 IDP camps of Sittwe and Pauktaw areas, Rakhine through close collaboration with Programme Coordinator, Project Officer, Nutrition Camp-based staffs and Volunteers. The purpose of emergency response to conflict affected people through nutrition services, this program aims to prevent malnutrition risk factors and to raise awareness of health feeding practices among PLWs and 6-24 months children in targeted communities linked with WASH, Health and Nutrition partners.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Budget Responsibilities: No financial approval

 

Role Dimensions: No regular contact

 

Travel: Frequent (over 8 days per month)

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1.            Overall responsibility for day-to-day management of BSFP activities in targeted areas closely coordination with project officer and other partners.

2.            Prepare, develop and submit detail distribution plan and monitoring plan to project officer for monthly distribution.

3.            Regular dealing with stakeholders for nutrition commodities transportation and storage processes. 

4.            Responsible for monthly BSFP distribution in assigned Sittwe and Pauktaw IDP camps through closely coordination with Nutrition camp-based staffs in program areas.

5.            Check monthly distribution record (Form A) and submit summary report for assigned camps to Project Officer and MEAL team with timely and precisely manner. 

6.            Support on the promotion activities, malnourish screening, Vit A & Deworming campaign and Micronutrient powder distribution in communities of program areas.

7.            To facilitate OTP/TSFP/BSFP supply transportation process close coordinate with PO, WFP field office, camp-based staffs, to accomplish Urban distribution engaged with volunteers and CMCs

8.            Check weekly reports and monthly distribution reports and submit the reports to the supervisor and MEAL team with timely and precisely manner.

9.            Assist Project Assistants in monitoring project activities of Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) and Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) in Pauktaw IDP camps.

10.         Assist Project Assistant/project Office in weekly supportive supervision to community-based staff and volunteers at OTP and SFP admission/follow up day with the purpose of delivering effective and systematic treatment according to National IMAM treatment protocol.

11.         Assist Project Assistant/ project officer for compiling project documents, checking and analysing and documents retention process for all the data that are related with OTP and TSFP and BSFP.

12.         Liaise and coordinate with IDP camps (Pauktaw area, Rakhine State) and village authorities regarding with project activities as necessary.

13.         Assist in procurement of materials, supplies and maintenance of project equipment and repair. 

14.         Assist supervisor in preparing work plan and budget estimation. 

15.         Responsible for monthly financial tasks, administrative tasks, Supply Chain tasks for the program continuation activities

16.         Take steps to ensure that the program benefits the poorest and most disadvantaged children.

17.         Any other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS 

•              University degree or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

•              Working experiences in Nutrition Program with Development and Humanitarian context

•              Excellent personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

•              Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements

•              Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for children

•              Understanding on Local context and Local Language.

•              Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies, including the Child Safeguarding Policy

Desireable

•              Good communication skills with excellent interpersonal communication 

•              Ability to live and travel in remote locations, and ability to speak local language
