Job Overview

The Supervisor, Bloomie’s Team (SBT) is a highly engaged and energetic "go-to" resource at the forefront of both the colleague and customer experience. The SBT’s primary objective is to drive sales and build operational excellence by supporting the Store Manager and Store Leader in creating a customer-centric experience. The SBT also leads the Bloomie’s team by training, coaching, and developing a team of colleagues. The SBT is proficient in all aspects of the selling and service culture, and in operational tasks, including merchandise processing and placement, signing, pricing accuracy and protection of company assets. The SBT must be able to assist with Sales, Service, Merchandising, and Asset Protection functions as needed, demonstrating versatility between those functions as dictated by business need. The SBT leads with a collaborative spirit to drive an engaging work experience for the team and an easy, fun shopping experience for our customers. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Performs supervisory functions for total store in the absence of the Store Manager or Store Leader.
  • Drives and exceeds goals through observing, coaching and role modeling appropriate behaviors that create a fun shopping environment where all customers feel welcome.
  • Ensures colleagues engage with customers and provides a friendly and easy to shop environment.
  • Trains and coaches colleagues on all of the behaviors, process and job responsibilities required of their team.
  • Delivers a best in-class shopping experience by leading their work centers; assisting customers and injecting self into customer interactions to ensure a consistent elevated level of customer service; prompts appropriate service and selling behaviors.
  • Partners with Store Leaders to ensure outstanding customer experience and execution of operational functions including maintaining elevated visual and merchandising standards throughout the store.
  • Oversees and plans for execution of tasks related to area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates appropriate product knowledge and communicates sales and promotions to team.
  • Coaches colleagues providing feedback and redirection when necessary. 
  • Assists with new hire onboarding process and performance management of colleagues. 
  • Keeps track of schedules, making adjustments regarding PTO or other emergencies. 
  • Cultivates a strong business partnership with store leadership team, trade area, and Central partners as needed. 
  • Embraces and is proficient with technology, requiring and championing use of all technology to support a seamless customer experience.
  • Protects Company assets, adhering to all operational and cash office procedures.

 

Qualifications and Competencies

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers. 
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities. 
  • Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Frequent use of computers - Able to use and navigate multiple technological devices. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.

 

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions.
  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department.
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision and climbing ladders.
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs.
