Business Development Manager

  • Ensure proper focus on business development & marketing of the port
  • Responsible for the sales and business development in South Africa, Swaziland and Botswana
  • Execute strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve volumes and revenue targets and expand market share
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships to drive sales growth.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners to secure favorable terms.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive intelligence, and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the successful delivery of products or services to clients.
  • Facilitate the solution-selling process within the specific Operating Company, aligned to the objectives set for the sub-capability and be a prime user of the CAM systems (including other technology/digital projects) with aim to enhance the commercial and sales process.
  • Manage budget: analyze financial performance, and make data-driven decisions to optimize profitability.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our products or services, effectively communicating their value proposition to clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to foster a culture of customer service excellence and create new business opportunities with potential clients.
  • Contribute to operational efficiencies and standards and continuously strive to identify and in collaboration with Commercial Lead, implement improvement initiatives.

Other

  • Act as an ambassador for DP World Maputo at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World`s Principles, values and culture; 
  • Ensuring the highest level of saf2ty is applied in all activities;
  • Understanding and following DP World`s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Education Level: Graduate/ Bachelor`s degree
  • Experience in Commercial, Sales & Business development in the container terminal industry: 4
    to 5 years
  • Integrity

  • Experience of working or dealing with shipping/ container line companies
  • Customer focused approach
  • Sound understanding of port productivity measures and implications on tariffs
