Web Analyst - Support and Project Management
The Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) leads and supports the organization in cultivating, building and nurturing strategic relationships and alliances that are essential for advancing and successfully achieving the mission of UNDP. Within BERA, the Advocacy, Marketing and Communications Group leads and manages external communications through strategy, media, digital communications, marketing, branding and global storytelling. The Digital Communications Studio (DCS) within the Advocacy, Marketing and Communications Group is responsible for implementing a comprehensive digital strategy, including UNDP’s multi-lingual corporate website in three languages (English, French, Spanish) and Country Office sites and partner sites; and all aspects of digital media channels with cutting-edge multi-media and social media approaches, products, services, and platforms, including increased attention to mobile platforms.
Central to UNDP’s external digital presence are its corporate websites managed through its Digital Experience Platform (DXP). The DXP provides website authoring, collaboration, and administration tools designed to allow users with little knowledge of web programming languages to create and manage corporate-grade websites with relative ease. There are approximately 500 active users of the DXP.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Digital Production Lead and Senior Support Specialist in the Digital Communications Studio (DCS),the Web Analyst will:
- Provide daily support of DXP users at country, regional and global levels, covering multiple time zones from Oceania to Latin America
- Under the guidance and supervision of Digital Specialists within the DCS, support the coordination and delivery of client-oriented training services on-site and virtually for country offices and headquarters staff, ideally in English, French and Spanish, on:
- Building and managing websites through UNDP’s corporate web system, also known as the DXP;
- Best practices for storytelling.
- Best practices for photo and video usage
- How to use Google Analytics
3. Facilitate the DCS team with producing stories and blogs provided by the Editorial team. This requires inputting written pieces such as blogs and stories into Drupal to be published on UNDP web pages.
4. Contribute to the DCS team with major enhancements to the corporate websites
- Collect feedback from DXP users regarding bugs and enhancements.
- Work closely with team of digital specialists to specify and test enhancements for feasibility and quality assurance.
5. Working with DCS’s Digital Governance Specialist, support the fulfilment of basic standards of digital communications by end-users.
- Routinely audit UNDP websites for quality
- Maintain lists of microsites and partnership sites
- Report on any risks or degradation in content or site usage
- Actively facilitate a community of practice among digital communications personnel
- Maintain, update and organize guidance materials on current standards and practices for digital communications.
6. Provide analytic support on the performance of digital communication activities
- Regularly report on audience activity on UNDP’s global digital channels
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual analysis of digital communication activities
- Lead efforts to analyze major digital communication campaigns
- Incorporate critical and significant findings into future trainings and guidance materials
7. Contribute to the project management.
- Work with digital team to scope requirements/specifications, time and costs of small and mid-sized web projects
- Coordinate project and client teams to ensure compliance with agreed scope
8.The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

The Web Analyst will be working under the direct supervision of DCS’s Digital Production Lead with guidance from the Senior Support Specialist.

- Experience in using web content production tools and platforms to create web pages and publish stories is desired.
- Proven experience in providing support and guidance to non-technical users in a wide range of situations is an asset.
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Communications, Languages, Management, Knowledge Management, Organizational Development, Social Sciences or other related discipline is a requirement.
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of work experience; in using Acquia digital experience platform and Drupal web content management system.
Required Skills:
- Experience and extensive skills and knowledge of web applications such as Google Analytics and editing software.
Language:
- Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French and Spanish is desired.
Professional Certificates:
- A professional certification in training, learning management or facilitation is an asset but not a requirement.
