Second shift lead tech for the radiology department.

Primary Functions-
  1. Participates in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation. 
  2. Responsible for patient/caregiver interactions and provides accurate preparation instructions to patient/caregiver with the ability to answer pertinent procedural questions. Responsible for coordinating and resolving medical imaging patient issues including scheduling issues.
  3. Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging protocols, radiation safety and a working knowledge of all radiology equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of routine and specialized diagnostic imaging protocols. Is proficient in performing studies in all areas of Diagnostic Radiology.
  4. Responsible for patient identification, proper identification of all images, PACS interaction and documentation. Operates hospital computer system for patient data entry and retrieval.   Actively participates in upgrades in processes to develop as a leader and instructor. 
  5. Responsible for the preparation, administration, and documentation of contrast media per departmental protocols under the direct supervision of a radiologist/physician. Observes patient for allergic reaction after administration of contrast.
  6. Responsible for screening of patients to be imaged for contraindications that may be hazardous to their health or to the safety of others. 
  7. Assist supervisors with staffing flow on the shift assigned.
  8. Ensures proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance. Reports unsafe conditions and incidents. 
  9. As a lead technologist has additional responsibilities including but not limited to: Monthly equipment calibrations and repeat analyses, provides input for performance reviews as requested, and provides   team member coaching for workflow optimization. 
  10. Regular attendance is required, and this position is considered essential for purposes of staffing during severe weather emergencies and other natural disasters.
  11. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, must have reliable transportation and must be able to work on an on-call basis.
  12. Good Communication skills are required. In addition to accepting feedback, asking questions and active communication with counterparts and all departments.  Must have the ability to work well with others, acts as a team member.  Ability to work independently and engage in critical thinking to improve the quality of care.

Qualifications-

ARRT registered

Appropriate State Licensure (NJ , DE) obtained within 90 days of start date

CPR certification within 1st 90 days of start date

Supervisory experience preferred.
