Research Support Assistant
Grade UE04: £24,533.00 - £27,181.00 Per Annum.

Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week.
Edinburgh Law School is recruiting a Research Support Assistant to join its Research, Knowledge Exchange and Impact Office. The Research Support Assistant will provide support for research activities within the School including financial administration, assistance with events and responding to general inquiries. This role is varied and would be suitable for well organised administrators with financial experience and excellent customer service skills. It provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in research administration within higher education.
The Opportunity:
The role holder will provide high quality administrative support for research activities within Edinburgh Law School. This includes financial processing, monitoring and reporting for funded research grants, assisting with the organisation of research and knowledge exchange events and acting as the first points of contact for the Research, Knowledge Exchange and Impact Office (RKEIO).
This posts are full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Experience of financial administration including transaction processing, budget monitoring and reporting (Desirable).
- Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to work accurately with high levels of attention to detail.
- A working knowledge of MS Office packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel, and the ability to learn how to use web-based (and other IT) packages.
- Experience of working and responding to queries and taking a proactive approach to seeking out information and resolving problems (Desirable).
- Excellent organisational, administrative and task management skills.
