The BMAP (Biobank and Molecular Analysis Program), Clinical Research Coordinator performs various duties and responsibilities in the identification, collection, storage and processing of human subject tissue, blood and other biological material for the purpose of medical research. Implements and improves operational practices (including but not limited to: SOP’s, CAP accreditation documentation, IRB applications, etc.) in coordination with laboratory management (i.e. Lab Director, Program Manager, Research Scientist, etc.); and serves as key resource person to supports team members and others related to laboratory operations. Coordinates sample procurement enterprise wide (DV, Orlando, Jacksonville and Pensacola). Participates in the planning of clinical research projects with investigators and other research coordinators. Learns, understands and can perform our specimen processing for clinical research studies. Facilitates connections with hospital departments and groups, enterprise wide, with the goal of expansion and growth of our program.  Initiates and maintains positive working relationships with all internal departments & groups (ex. IRB, Compliance, OSP, Accounting, Research Administration, Clinical areas, etc.).  Routinely multi-tasks, solves complex problems and is open to constant challenge and change. Position requires working knowledge of the research environment, including policies and standard practices. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and organize multiple research projects is essential. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs and ability to learn other needed software programs is required. 

1. Responsible for Biobank participant screening, recruitment, and enrollment (consenting). 
2. Coordinates sample procurement according to protocols and is responsible for coordinating the flow of samples to our program enterprise wide (Orlando, Jacksonville and Pensacola). 
3. Responsible for ongoing IRB application and yearly renewal.
4. Maintains the BMAP Information Management System (BSI) for tracking of all specimens and is  responsible for adding information to BSI. 
5. Works with IT, Facilities and other departments to support the Biobank operations. 
6. Performs our specimen processing services for clinical research studies as per protocols and possesses the skills to train others in these processes. 
7. Prepares biological specimens for shipment. 
8. Participates in the planning of clinical research projects with investigators and research coordinators and is responsible for specimen coordination through BMAP. 
9. Serve as a liaison on designated committees and teams.
10. Follows all aspects of the laboratories Standard Operating Procedures, CAP, and Good Clinical Practices in the conduct of clinical research 
11. Participates in team meetings. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required in science or related field, with 1-3 years experience. Degree in biology or related discipline preferred.  
• Experience with biomedical laboratory procedures, biological sample handling and processing required.
